Enjoy a 5-day all-expenses paid trip to South Africa including your international return flight up to $1,000. Most economy flights from North America or Europe are approx. $1,000. If you want to book business you can use the $1,000 as a credit towards your business class ticket. All your expenses will be covered in South Africa (i.e. all your meals, safari lodge accommodations, airport and road transfers, Safari game drives, tours, activities, conservation permits etc. )
Day 1: Arrival into Durban and transfer to our host safari lodge located 12 minutes away from where we do our rhino rescue work.
Day 2: Get hands-on with rhinos in the wild with our Wildlife Conservation Team for a rhino dehorning, ear notching and medical check up operation. Rhino dehorning has proven to be an effective measure to deter rhino poaching. You will participate in a hands-on experience with rhinos in the wild. You will get up close to wild rhinos whilst assisting the URhino team in collecting DNA samples (hair and blood samples) and taking measurements, all of this contributing to the protection of the species. The procedure is not harmful in any way to the rhinos and our veterinarians/wildlife management team are highly experienced ensuring the welfare of the rhinos during the procedure. See more HERE
Day 3: Full day wildlife safari drive
Day 4: Zulu Cultural walking tour : Immerse yourself into the rural community of the Lebombo mountains and enjoy a memorable walk with remarkable views, while learning about rural Zulu customs and traditions. This walk is a cultural treat and allows for interaction with the people of the area, as well as gives a greater insight into life in rural Zululand.
Day 5: Transfer to Durban in time for your flight home unless you are extending your time in South Africa.
You will be staying at our 4 star host safari lodge located 12 minutes away from where we do our rhino rescue work.
The URhinoProject which is an initiative managed by the Upmost Foundation 501(c)(3) Nonprofit is focused on helping to protect more rhinos from the risk of being attacked, injured/killed by poachers for their horns.
This experience raises funds for the URhino Project which is an initiative of the Upmost Foundation, a US-registered 501(c)(3) public nonprofit. 100% of the donation proceeds generated from this experience go towards supporting the Upmost Foundation conservation projects. Capitalized terms used and not defined below have the respective meanings assigned to them in the Official Rules, available here.

2. Benefiting Nonprofit & SponsorThis Experience is part of a fundraising campaign for Upmost Foundation/URhino Rescue Project (“Upmost”), which is a recognized United States 501(c)(3) public nonprofit. 100% of donations raised from this Experience go to Upmost, who will then use the donation proceeds to fund URhino Project rescue/anti-poaching operational costs. See the “Fundraising Transparency” section, below
3. Deadline to Enter:This Experience begins August 27, 2022 at 12:00 a.m., Pacific Time, and ends when the $12,000 fundraising goal is reached (the “Entry Period”)
4. Entry Limit:The maximum number of entries for any one person into this Experience (the “Entry Limit”) is one hundred (150).
5. Potential Winner Notification:Upon the fundraising goal of $12,000 being reached, the virtual “Contest Wheel” will be spun and broadcast via Instagram and via email to all participating donors so that everyone will be able to see the winner of the spin the wheel contest.
6. Prize Details:(a) The Winner will be able to join any available 5 day rhino rescue trip to South
Africa all expenses paid including a $1,000 flight credit to use to cover their
international return flight. All expenses while in South Africa will be covered (i.e. 4-star hotels/Safari
lodge accommodations, all meals, road and airport transfers, all safari &
cultural activities, conservation permits etc.)
(i) Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $12,000.00 (USD)
(ii) Anticipated Prize Fulfillment Date: TBD once the $12k funding goal has been
reached; however, that Winner must travel between March through
May and travel before May 30, 2024 or the Prize will become null and void. Winner will be requested to provide
three (3) separate dates of preferred
travel and Prize Provider will work towards fulfilling at least one (1) of those dates. Additionally, a
minimum of twelve (12) weeks lead time prior to the
preferred departure date is required for booking, and Winner and Guest passports must be valid for travel with
a minimum of six (6) months of the date of
departure. The accommodations for this trip are subject to availability. Once the package is booked it is
non-changeable and non-refundable.
(iii) Prize Fulfillment Location: South Africa
Age to enter: You must be at least 18 years old to enter.
Prohibited Persons. In addition to those prohibited persons identified in Section 4(A) of the Official Rules,
any employees, officers, and/or directors of the Designated Grantee(s) of this Experience are not eligible to
enter or win this Experience.
Health and Safety: Upmost may require that Winner, and any Guest(s),
(i) attest to having received certain vaccinations, including, without limitation, a
COVID-19 vaccination, and provide proof of the same (in a format determined by Upmost in its sole discretion),
and/or
(ii) provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test (testing and proof of results in a
format determined by Upmost in its sole discretion) in order to accept the Grand Prize. In the event a Winner,
and any Guest(s), are unable to produce proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test reasonably
satisfactory to Upmost, then Upmost reserves the right to decline the Winner from attending the trip in its
sole discretion.
Entry is subject to all applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void
where prohibited. See the Official Rules for more details. In certain jurisdictions, local rules and laws may
restrict or prohibit the award of certain prizes or impose additional restrictions on participation.
Potential Winners are subject to confirmation and verification by Upmost per the terms and restrictions stated in the Official Rules. As part of the Winner confirmation and verification process Upmost may conduct background check(s) on a Potential Winner (and any Guests of Potential Winner) except where legally prohibited. Background checks may occur without any additional notice to Potential Winner and/or prior to awarding the Prize(s), as may be permitted by law. Participation in an Experience constitutes Participant’s authorization to such background checks, without Upmost providing additional prior notice or seeking additional authorizations or consents from Potential Winner.
9. Fundraising Transparency:This Experience is part of a fundraising campaign for the Upmost Foundation/URhino Rescue Project (“Upmost”), which is a recognized United States 501(c)(3) public nonprofit. Upmost retains exclusive control over all donations raised in this Experience. Where your donation goes: For Upmost Owned Experiences, like this one, 100% of the total donation proceeds (the total donation value less the costs for the Winner's flights, meals, transfers and accommodation costs) goes towards funding the URhino Project's rescue/anti-poaching operations. Donation proceeds fund the following: Veterinarian fees Helicopter and pilot fees to track the rhinos at the highest risk of being poached. Costs associated with ear notching and tagging the rhinos for identification and tracking purposes. Ground support teams. Lodging costs for team members. Medical supplies and if required milk, vitamins etc. for baby orphaned rhinos injured by poachers. 24-hour security patrols around the reserve parameters to safeguard the rhinos from poachers. Costs to subsidize local and international volunteers. Marketing /advertising costs to bring awareness to this project ( less than 10% of total annual donation revenues) Wages (paid at minimum wage) for URhino Rescue staff ( less than 20% of total annual donation revenues)
